Christmas shortbread with seeds (cardamom)

A recipe idea for a family shortbread workshop?

INGREDIENTS (for about 30 shortbreads):

  • 160 g flour
  • 30 g of oat flakes
  • 120 g of brown sugar
  • 125 g butter
  • 1 egg
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 2 pinches of salt
  • 4 tablespoons sunflower seeds
  • 2 tablespoons poppy seeds
  • 2 tablespoons sesame
  • 4 cl of raw cardamom syrup

Mix in a salad bowl the flour, oat flakes, sugar, salt, sunflower seeds, poppy seeds, sesame seeds and butter cut into pieces.

Work the dough with your fingertips and add the egg. Add 2 cl of cardamom syrup. Form a nice ball of dough.

Turn the oven on to 180°.

Roll out the dough on a floured work surface to a thickness of about one centimeter. Cut out cookies with a cookie cutter. Place them on a baking sheet covered with baking paper.

Using a brush, apply a mixture of egg yolk and cardamom syrup to the shortbread before baking for 12 minutes.
